SRVDC - San Ricardo Ventures and Development Corporation

Big things always have small beginnings and indeed it all started small for the family’s matriarch Eustaquia Bas Nebria Abecia. From selling assorted items in the local market to the money lending business she founded, Manang Tikya as she was fondly called by her peers, later passed on the business to her only daughter Anastacia and Husband, Ricardo Cabusas. Together, they later on formalized the business giving it the name RICANN LENDING, INC, a single proprietorship business involved in Real Estate, Chattel Mortgage and other loan services.

The business proved lucrative even during the People Power era and more so during the economic boom in the early 1990’s. However, during the worst financial crisis that hit Asia sometime in 1997, the business sector took a beating. With stock markets crushing, heavy unemployment rate and businesses folding up, the Lending business wasn’t spared either as it heavily relied on their clients source of income from their jobs or businesses. As a door closes, a new door opens or so the saying goes. Indeed, the ability to survive in such a competitive business is to be able to spot and identify potential market even in times of crisis. Sps. Ricardo and Anastacia Cabusas then decided to ventures in the apartment business as many new families during the financial crisis didn’t have access to home financing, and it proved to be a successful endeavor. This business venture proved to be a stepping stone for the family owned business to go into the Real Estate business. In the same decade, the family marked its first venture into the Real Estate Development business with the opening of the subdivision extension of Sta. Teresa II subdivision with more or less 19 raw lots classified as simple subdivision.

As the dawn of the new millennium approached, the family decided to go into a Join Ventures with one of the country’s premier land developer, FILINVEST LAND INC. (FLI) in 2003 to develop its property as an extension of Corona del Mar’s land development expansion program in light of the brisk demand for high end real estate products. In 2006, the family entered into another Joint Ventures development with HDL Construction and Dev’t. Corp. to develop its 5.2 hectare property in Biasong, Talisay City, Cebu soon to be called PUEBLO SAN RICARDO. With the active participation of their children Eustaquia Cabusas Laburada and Carl Cabusas together with other competent incorporators, the family corporation is now formally known as SAN RICARDO VENTURES AND DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION.
